Greece is part of the EU and the IMF, thus the currecny that is used is EURO. If you come from a country with a different currency, you can exhange it in any bank you can find, or in a tourist office. You can find banks at Limenas and Limenaria.
If you live in a country with 110V electricity, your electric accessories would not work in Greece where 220V (50Hz) electrical outlets are standard. Just purchase an electrical adaptor to make sure all your equipment will work. An adaptor would allow your plug to physically fit into the Greek power outlets.
]]>The rights and obligations of hotel guests and hotels themselves have been included for the first time in the Greek Civil Code and later in a more detailed way in Law No 1652/30-10-1986.
Civil Code
The Greek Civil Code of 1946 includes regulations on the rights and obligations of hoteliers as well as and hotel guests (articles 834 – 838). These regulations specify among others that:

Regulations of relations between hotel guests and hoteliers (Code of relations) were initially drafted as decision of the secretary general of the Greek National Tourism Organization, No. 503007 / 76 and were later modified in the decision of the secretary general of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Nr. 535813/79. The regulation was ratified as law by the Greek Parliament within Article 8 of Law No. 1652/1986. The above law regulates aspects of daily relationships between hoteliers and individual guests or tourists travelling in groups organized in tourist packages. Among others, the regulations specify that:

When entering Greece, EU citizens are not required to carry their passports. An EU Identification Card provides adequate information. UK citizens need to carry a passport, but otherwise the entry conditions are the same as other EU nationals. Citizens of the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and several South American nations require only a valid passport to stay in Greece for up to 90 days without a visa. Nationals from a number of other countries are permitted to remain in Greece for 60 days without a visa. Visa extensions can be easily acquired by an application and payment of an extension fee to the proper authorities, while you must also be able to show bank documentation or other evidence which states that you have the means to support yourself without employment. Staying in the country with an expired visa is prohibited and subject to prosecution. Lastly, Greek authorities prohibit entry to individuals whose passport states that they have visited the occupied region of Northern Cyprus after November 1983.
Tourists from Russia and Turkey must have a valid VISA before entering Greece. If travelling to Thassos through the Athens International airport "Eleftherios Venizelos", the customs area has three lanes. You should select the appropriate lane depending on the items you have to declare. If you have nothing to declare, you simply pass through the Green lane. In case you wish to declare business goods or the like, you should go through the Red lane. If you are an EU national, you can easily go through the Blue lane.
In order to bring your pet (dog or cat), it is essential that you present a certificate stating that the animal has no infectious diseases and that it has had all necessary inoculations during the last 6 days prior to arrival. It must also state that the animal has had a rabies shot in the last 12 months (for dogs) and in the last 6 months (for cats) prior to arrival.
The owners of dogs must also carry documentation certifying that the animal has been wormed against echinococcus. Certificates must be issued by a veterinary authority and authenticated and notarized by a corresponding medical authority and by a Greek consulate.

You can come to Thassos by your own vehicle. First you must go to the port of Kavala or the port of Keramoti. Kavala is located 165 km away from Thessaloniki, 170 km from Alexandroupoli. Keramoti is a small town located 60 km west of Kavala. When you arrive in any of those ports, you can take the ferry boat to reach Thassos. The routes which are available are:

You can take the KTEL bus from Athens ( Kifisos Station ) or from Thessaloniki ( Macedonia Station ) and reach Kavala. The trip from Athens is about 9 hrs. and from Thessaloniki 2 hrs. When you reach Kavala, you can take the ferry boat to Skala Prinos.

You can use the airport "Megas Alexandros" of Chrisoupoli which is 10 a minute drive from the port of Keramoti. There are several daily flights from and to Athens and other European cities. From the airport, you can take a taxi and reach the port of Keramoti, where you can take the ferry boat to Limenas.
